CREDITS: This is a 2 part workshop- you must attend both portions (12.6.19 and 12.13.19) to receive 12 hours PD credit

Course Description:
This workshop will focus on the types of activities that teachers can do to move their students from simple to more complex responses. Following a grammar review, several hands-on activities related to language complexity will be introduced and practiced. Topics covered will include basic grammar, transition words, phrases and clauses. The shared activities will relate to vocabulary development and sentence complexity. In the second half of the workshop participants will create their own course materials with instructor guidance. Participants should bring appropriate resources such as an upcoming unit, vocabulary lists, and assignments. Each participant should leave this workshop with a minimum of three new activities to be implemented immediately. ***This course is a PREREQUISITE for the ELL Language Complexity II***
