Introduction to Learning Disabilities, Reading and Explicit Instruction: Trainer, Connie Nealon
Definition of Learning Disabilities: Focuses on describing the consensus and controversies in the definition of LD, as well as their practical application. Reading Disabilities: Covers the considerations and strategies for working with adults with LD and all adult learners who struggle with reading. Explicit Instruction for Strategy Learning: Covers how explicit instruction can be used to help adults with LD and all learners develop strategies to learn.
ELL- Accessing CUNY Careerkits for Beginning and Low Intermediate Students- Register HERE:
Supports and Scaffolds for Level 1-3 English Language Learners. A workshop for instructors working with NRS Level 1-3 English Language Learners. Participants will have a chance to explore and discuss VAKT teaching methods and techniques for beginning/intermediate learners, as well as adaptations for the NYSED/CUNY Career Kits. Lots of hands-on activities and time for discussion. Trainer: CUNY Teacher Leader, Linda Feldman
