Distance Learning 101 (Online)
Distance Learning 101 is a comprehensive introduction for educators who will be teaching any NYSED approved DL course (Crossroads Cafe, SMART, Skills Tutor, GRASP). It is required by NYSED for all D-L curriculum teachers. In this workshop you will interact with DL teachers across New York State, sharing your comments and your work to:
understand what Distance Learning is and when it is appropriate
explore the differences between Distance Learning and traditional education
recognize the elements of a successful Distance Learning structure
review NYSED requirements for providing Distance Learning
become familiar with electronic options for interacting with your students
Audience: DL teachers and administrators
Date: Course opens Wednesday, January 20 at 9:00 am and will remain open until Thursday, February 4 at 4:00 pm. You may join in at anytime, but DO NOT think that you can knock this off in a night. There are comprehensive work assignments that you must successfully complete before you can move forward through the course.
